UTV Software has reported combined financial results for its gaming and Interactive/New Media businesses, with the segment contributing to around 14% of the operating revenues of the company in the first nine months of FY11. For the quarter ended December 31st 2010 (Q3-11), the gaming and Interactive segments have reported higher revenues. Consolidated revenues for the combined segment were Rs. 45.93 crore, up 117% year on year from Rs. 21.18 crore in Q3 last year and 35.72% up from the previous quarter's Rs 35.72 crore. Segment results (EBITDA) too have increased significantly to Rs. 10.63 crore from a loss of Rs. 2.84 crore for Q2-10, a rise of 102.4% when compared to Q2 FY11 which was Rs 5.25 crore. Download: Earnings Release | Financial Results A couple of things to take note of: - Given that the segments have been combined, there's no way of knowing which of the businesses - Gaming or Interactive - is really contributing to the growth, and by how much. - The nine months results of FY11 just indicate a rise of 3.7% to Rs Rs 99.2 crores from previous year's figures of Rs 95.6 crore. The gaming and interactive segment for UTV would include UTV Indiagames (mobile and tablet games), UTV New Media (online and mobile publishing of tech news, TV and cinema related content), UTV Ignition Entertainment (console gaming) and UTV True Games (MMOG).
