BigAdda Goes Down The E-Commerce Path With BigAdda Shop

BigAdda appears to be changing tracks, and focusing on an e-commerce business: on its homepage, where there was once a focus on photos, blogs groups and videos, visitors are now greeted with “Deals of the Day”, and offers for buying mobile phones at a discount. A social network from the Reliance BIG Entertainment, BIGAdda has launched BigAdda Shop, currently selling only electronic goods like mobile phones, external hard drives, cameras, universal remotes.

They appear to have set up a call center for the shopping business, with call-in numbers 1800-209-7009, 0922-343-5566 and 0922-343-5656. As we had reported earlier, BIG Entertainment had been working on BIGMRP.in, a comparison shopping site. What’s a little strange is that this is the second e-commerce business from the group: Zapak already has ZapakShop, and has with more categories of offer than BigAdda Shop; the pricing appears to be different too.

That doesn’t mean that BIGAdda has abandoned its social networking roots, though. The site still has blogs, videos and photos and Addas (groups), apart from classifieds powered by Quikr, and oddly enough, a finance section, apparently powered by Religare Technova.
