DTH operator Tata Sky has tied up with Hungama Game Studio for Actve Games, its DTH gaming service. Hungama Game Studio is, according to the release, a part of Hungama Digital Media. This deal mirrors a previous deal between UTV owned Indiagames and Reliance BIG TV DTH.
Tata Sky subscribers will be able to subscribe to games on Tata Sky, priced at Rs. 40 per month. The service aims at providing over 50 different games through the year, at least six daily. For a PC user, this doesn’t make much sense.
The games available are quite common and templated casual games, and gameplay commonly seen in mobile games. You’re probably better off with a PC, or even casual games online. But then it’s probably down to distribution and availability. Games currently on offer include Yuvraj Singh Cricket Championship, Zombie Rampage (kill to protect your village), Castle In The Sky (assassinate the tyrant emperor) Tank Raid, Unsolved Mysteries, Word-blast, Star Maker (shoot falling comets with your ship). There’s a leaderboard called Game Guru, and there appear to be takers for DTH gaming.
