The CommunityMatrimony family of online matrimonial portals has a new member: DefenceMatrimony.com. Launched by Consim Info, this portal provides online matrimony services to the Army, Air Force and Navy personnel. Considering the amount of difficulty in finding suitable matches that is faced by defense personnels who are posted in remote areas like Siachen and Kargil, the portal provides a way for the parents of the defense personnel to choose the right partner for them. Note that the design of DefenceMatrimony is different from that of other Bharatmatrimony portals. The portal offers free matrimony services to war widow/widowers and defence personnel who are physically challenged, and lower priced membership packages to those currently in defense service and for ex-servicemen. In Aprtil of this year Consim Info had launched a matrimonial site for the differentially-abled people, as a free service, monetized by ads. In July, key competitor Shaadi.com launched a number of vertical specific sites in beta, like AssameseShaadi, BengaliShaadi, KashmiriShaadi, ParsiShaadi, among others. BharatMatrimony has over 250 websites targeting different Indian segments – communities and castes.
