Aug 2010: 405 Mobile Internet Pageviews Per Indian Opera Mini User

Opera Software has said that India's the third largest country, in terms of number of users, for its Opera Mini browser software. In its State of the Mobile Web report, which tracks usage of its Opera Mini software across the world, the company has said that its unique-user growth is the highest the top 20 countries in the Opera, at a 338.7% growth year on year. Following India are Malaysia (306%), Vietnam (289.9%) and Brazil (289%). India has also reported a 396.8% in pageviews year on year, with 405 Page-views per user. The top 10 sites, by unique users, have remained the same over the past month. Notice the presence of song download site Songs.pk in the mix: must be heavy data consumption for telecom operators. It's also interesting to note the massive jump in pageviews in India - to 405 from 393. What changed? Note that the increase could be on account of more handsets that have the browser installed, as well as increase in data consumption from users. Download Opera’s State of the Mobile Web report here. Note: Please keep in mind that, despite being called ‘State of the Mobile Web’, it is likely that it is not. The data is indicative of data consumption on the Opera Software browsers on the mobile, and not other modes of access, of which applications and default handset browsers are a key component.
