Indian Government To Provide Support For Filing of Patents

In order to encourage filing of international patents, a Scheme Support International Patent Protection in Electronics & IT (SIP-EIT) has been put in place. The Scheme Supports International Patent Protection in Electronics & IT by SMEs(Small and Medium Enterprises) and Technology Start-Up Companies. Under this scheme, SMEs and Technology Start-up units will be reimbursed upto 50% of actual costs, up to a maximum of Rs.15 lakhs per application, incurred in filing international patent applications in Electronics and ICT domain for their indigenous inventions. Through this scheme DIT aims to encourage indigenous innovation and enable the companies to capture global opportunities in the area of Electronics and Information Technology.

Quasar appoints Rohit Monga as Business Head

Rohit Monga has joined Quasar Media as Business Head for its Technology Web Solutions arm. He will report to CP Singh, (Group Chief Technology Officer), Quasar and will operate out of Gurgaon. He will be responsible for driving the revenue generation activity for entire India. Monga joins from ANMsoft Technologies, where he was spearheading the business development for Online Media Services for the company. Prior to joining Quasar, he has worked with Numedios Solutions, ITpreneurs, Astral Infotech Vietnam Ltd. and Net4india.

LinkedIn Makes India Appointments

LinkedIn has appointed Dhiman Mukherji Director of Advertising Sales, and Sunny Saurabh as Head of Advertising Solutions. Mukherji joins to lead LinkedIn’s advertising sales efforts. He was previously with AOL, where he was Head of Sales. Earlier this year Tarun Sobhani, Director and Head of Sales at AOL left the company to join Deals and You as co-founder. So heads sales for AOL India now?

Saurabh joins LinkedIn from UTV New Media, where he had moved after MySpace India began winding up operations in India. Saurabh had previously worked with current LinkedIn India Country Manager Hari Krishanan who was then heading MySpace in India. He will focus on developing customized solutions, which help companies build their social media strategy around LinkedIn, facilitating engagement with customers, partners and even potential employees.

Supreme Court of India To Experiment With e-notices

The Supreme Court of India on Monday decided to experiment with e-notice (email notices) to respondents to cut the delay in the traditional method of serving notices. The bench also questioned about the software to get acknowledgement of email notices. [source]
