Bharti Airtel Reclaims Airtel.com Domain

Bharthi Airtel Limited, has won back the Airtel.com domain from Ramandeep Singh, via the WIPO arbitration process. Airtel.com was previously with Vodafone, which it had acquired following its acquisition of Airtel Movil in Spain in 2000.  Airtel has been using the domain name Airtel.in for both its corporate and Indian site. Singh had apparently won the domain in an auction at pool.com. Airtel.com has been transferred to Bharti Airtel. [More here at WIPO]

ViziSense does survey on online behaviour of Indian women

ViziSense reports that social networking is getting more page views than e-mail categories and that women user in North India are more active than their counterparts in the South. Interestingly, ‘Shopping’ does not figure among the top 7 categories of websites accessed by women indicating lower adoption of online shopping by women as compared to other categories. Half of the licensed radio stations are still off air

Information and Broadcasting Ministry for Community licenses has received a total of 659 applications. Though by March 2010 about a hundred community radio stations were licensed in the country, only 57 are operational.

A total of 31 FM radio service providers have reported revenues amounting to Rs 2.1087 billion from advertisements coming out of 231 radio stations. [Radio and music]
