Jyotindra Thacker, who was CTO/CIO at Reliance Infocomm during its early years, before it became a part of the ADA Group, is likely to head Infotel Broadband, reports the Economic Times, quoting sources. Thacker currently heads information systems at Reliance Industries. Reliance Industries acquired 95% stake in Infotel Broadband just hours after the company won Broadband Wireless Access spectrum in 22 circles across India, in the auctions concluded earlier this month. They're expected to pay for the Rs. 12,847.77 crore for, and invest Rs. 4800 crore in the business. RIL plans to deploy WiMAX, and is considering deals with infrastructure players in order to reduce roll-out costs.
