Bharti Enterprises’ Mobile VAS company Comviva has opened offices in Miami, USA to cater to the Latin American and Caribbean markets. The company appointed Max Padró as General Manager to head its regional operations. Padro, according to his LinkedIn profile, has worked with telecom operators and enterprise customers in the region, in a sales and marketing capacity for over 15 years.
Prior to joining Comviva, he was VP (Sales) for Latin America for Cedar Point Communications for three years, responsible for the introduction of VoIP Switch into Operator, Business, Education and Governement sectors. Before that he was with NMS Communications for around five and a half years as Sales Director, before which he served as senior manager for Latin American Marketing and sales at Lucent Technologies for seven years in Latin America.
Two other Indian Mobile VAS companies that have a presence in the Latin American market include OnMobile Global, which has a multi-country deal with Telefonica, and Geodesic Ltd which acquired Interactive Networks Inc, a Mobile IM company, last year. IMI Mobile* also informs us that they have offices Panama, Colombia & Carribean Islands, and have had a presence in the Latin American and Caribbean regions for the last 3 years.
