UFO Moviez To Rake In Rs 200 Million In Sponsorship Via IPL

UFO Moviez owns the India rights to screen IPL matches in cinemas and expects to earn Rs 200 million from sponsorship deals for this year. Ford, Samsung, Nokia, Hero Honda and Union Bank of India  have already signed up. UFO Moviez have entered into a revenue sharing  agreement to screen matches on 700 screens. Rs 8.5 Billion For I&B Ministry

The Government has alloted a total of Rs 8.5 billion for Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The allocation includes Rs 3.43 billion for Broadcasting, Rs 1 billion for Information sector, Rs 880 million for Film sector and Rs 3.19 for Commonwealth Games and related programs.

Gameshastra Opens Facility In Hyderabad; Working On PS3 Title Based On Ekalavya

Indian game development studio Gameshastra has opened a new facility in Hyderbad and after game title Desi Adda: Games of India, is working on a Playstation 3 title based on the Indan myth of Ekalavya. The game is to be released sometimes in 2011. The company also plans to publish 16 games by the end of 2010.

American Tower Corporation buys Essar’s Tower Business For Rs 20 billion

American Tower through its wholly owned subsidiary Transcend Infrastructure Limited has entered into a purchase agreement with three India companies of Essar Groupto acquire the entire issued share capital of Essar Telecom  Infrastructure for Rs 20 billion in an all cash deal.

Airtel Digital TV has announced that users buying an Airtel DTH connection using HDFC credit card will get a discount of 15 percent.
