BIGMaps COO Manav Sethi Resigns

Manav Sethi, COO BigMaps, and AVP Corporate Strategy at Reliance Entertainment has put in his papers, MediaNama had learnt from reliable sources. Reliance Entertainment President Rajesh Sawhney has subsequently confirmed the development. Sethi's next move is not known, though it is rumored that he may either be starting up or joining a venture fund. We'll update when we have more. Sethi built the groups ambitious maps and local search venture from scratch, and had been with Reliance Entertainment for four years. BIGMaps was launched on mobile in September last year, and later as a facebook application. It has yet to be launched online at BigMaps.com. As a part of the corporate strategy role, according to Sethi's LinkedIn profile, he "engaged with strategic partners internationally for Mobile TV across entire value chain" and "Worked on various projects such as Digital Cinema (BIG Cinemas), Online/Mobile Gaming (Zapak), Online Social Networks (BIGAdda), Mobile Payments, Movie download & rental (BIGFlix), Animation (launched after an acquisition) and other 3G Entertainment Applications."
