Telenor Invest Rs 14.9 Billion, Increases Stake In Uninor To 60.11 Percent

Telenor Group has announced that it has invested Rs 14.9 billion in to Uninor. This is the third round of investment by Telenor which takes its stake from 49 percent to 60.11 percent. The company has invested a total of Rs 41.1 billion in Uninor. Telenor Group will complete remaining investment through a fourth and final transaction increasing its ownership stake in Uninor to a total of 67.25 per cent.

Opera Appoints Lars Boilesen As CEO

Opera Software has announced the appointment of Lars Boilesen as the new chief executive officer. Boilesen succeeds co-founder Jon von Tetzchner who will continue to serve the company full time in a strategic and independent capacity. Prior to re-joining Opera in January 2009 as chief commercial officer, Boilesen served on Opera Software’s Board of Directors as Vice Chairman. He has also worked with Alcatel-Lucent, Tandberg Data and Lego.

Founder CEO of Nautanki.tv Quits Company

Founder and CEO of Nautanki.tv, Sunil Nair has quit the company, WATBlog reported, adding that last year Hungama bought 74 percent for Rs 4 crores in the company. Hungama has confirmed Nair’s departure to MediaNama, and has said they’ll issue a statement regarding the same.

Update: according to Hungama, “Siddhartha Roy, COO of Hungama’s consumer and allied businesses, will manage the company’s affairs in the interim, while the Management identifies a suitable candidate to run the business.”

SatNav Technologies has launched, SatGuide Moov200 3.5″, an entertainment device with navigation. The device along with navigation has video, audio and photo features. It comes with a 2GB memory and can play all file formats. This device comes with the new SatNav’s Ver 8.0 maps. The gadget is priced at Rs 13,990.

11 Digit Numbers For Mobile Phones Likely Not To Be Implemented By TRAI

Instead of introducing 11-digit numbers TRAI is planning to open up digits 2 to 9 for mobile phones. With this new model all existing mobile numbers will remain the same but landline numbers will have 10 digits. TRAI will also launch a consultation process on the issue to seek the industry’s reaction before implementing its proposal. The proposal will open all levels expect numbers beginning with ‘1’, which TRAI wants to reserve for emergency services, toll-free numbers and government related services. Vavasi – Zain Deal To Take More Time

Zain’s largest shareholder—Al-Kharafi group has said that the deal with the Delhi based Vavasi group led consortium would take more time to meterialise.
