Aptech Acquires Maya Entertainment For Rs 760 Million

IT education services company Aptech has acquired Maya Entertainment Ltd for Rs 760 million in cash and equity shares. Mixed Reactions To TRAI’s Consultation Paper On FDI Limit In Broadcasting

Bharti Telemedia, a subsidiary of Bharti Airtel Ltd, and media house NDTV are in favour of increasing the FDI limit in the sector from 26 percent to 49 percent. Bennett, Coleman and Co Ltd (BCCL) and Zee Networks feel that there is no need of hike in FDI cap to 49 percent. (Read more at Business Line)

NTT Docomo May Own 51 Percent In TTSL By 2015

NTT Docomo may acquire a controlling stake of 51 percent in Tata Teleservices (TTSL) by 2015, if the telecom operator fails to meet the performance criteria set out in the deal agreement. The targets include reaching a EBIDTA margin of 15% and rolling out 20,000 GSM towers by March 2012. By March 2015, TTSL has to increase the number of GSM towers to 26,000 and hike its EBIDTA margin to 25%. At present Docomo has a 26 percent stake in TTSL (Read more at The Economic Times)

DoT Seeks Opinion From Law Ministry For 3G Spectrum Auction

DoT has asked for legal opinion from the law ministry on the schedule and guidelines for the 3G spectrum auction. The law ministry is closely examining the clause that states that if the winner does not get the spectrum within the alloted time then they will be entitled for compensation with interest. Srei Infrastructure To Merge With Quippo

Srei Infrastructure Finance Ltd, is merging with Quippo Infrastructure resulting in the promoters’ ownership in Srei to increase from 30 percent to 46 percent. The Kanoria family which founded both companies owns around 57 percent in Quippo, Srei owns another 17 percent and remaining 26 percent is owned  by venture capital funds and close associates of the Kanoria family. IP Addresses To Run Out By 2011

The Number Resource Organisation has announced that only 10 percent of the total available Internet Protocal version 4 (IPv4) addresses remain unallocated. Asia Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC) has said that less than 400 million IPv4 remain and will run out by late 2011. Paul wilson, director general, APNIC has said that it is time to switch to IPv6 which will allow the internet to grow to millions of times its current size in terms of devices connected.
