Buongiorno Shifts Asia HQ To India; Ropes In Amit Dey As CEO

MediaNama has learnt from multiple, reliable sources that Amit Dey, former Head of Sales and Business Development for Europe and Americas at OnMobile Global is joining Buongiorno as CEO. Buongiorno has confirmed Deys appointment to MediaNama. The buzz about Dey joining Buongiorno has been strong over the past few weeks, with executive search firm Egon Zehnder having been entrusted with the task of finding a CEO to “head Buongiorno in India and South Asia”, according to our sources.


As it turns out, the joint venture between Buongiorno and Japanese conglomerate Mitsui is shifting its Asia Headquarters from Hong Kong to India. Dey will be the CEO of Buongiorno Digital Innovation India Ltd, the new name for the company previously known as Buongiorno (Hong Kong), leading the companys efforts in India and APAC region.

Dey’s switch to Buongiorno comes just a few months after he joined print advertising companyAxis Ad Print Media as its CEO. He has been a VAS executive for seven years and his forte is product development, content development, technology tie ups and business development. Dey is a post graduate from IIM Kolkata and joined OnMobile in 2000. Buongiorno is listed on the Italian stock exchange and is present in 53 countries.

Milind Pathak,  former Co- CEO & Country Manager (India) with Buongiorno HongKong, recently moved to Comviva as Vice President, heading its Airtel SBU in India and globally.
