Mjunction launches B2C initiative

Mjunction Services, an e-commerce joint venture between Tata Steel and Steel Authority of India (SAIL), has forayed into a business-to-consumer (B2C) initiative. Named straightline.in, with technology support from information technology companies IBM and Cognizant, the e-commerce portal now comes in direct competition with established ones, such as eBay and Amazon.com, among others. Quippo Looking to Raise About $300 Million Via Stake Sale

Quippo Telecom Infrastructure Ltd. is looking to raise around $300 million through a stake sale to pay off its debt. The company holds a 49% stake in Wireless TT Info-Services Ltd .WTTIL now has about 25,000 towers. At the time of the deal in January, the combined entity had about 18,000 towers, which gave it an enterprise value of 130 billion rupees ($2.82 billion Demand for passive telecom network infrastructure such as towers is booming in India – the world’s fastest-growing telecom market by subscriber additions – as new mobile providers opt for leasing infrastructure to reduce costs and roll out services faster. BSNL employees arrested on SIM card case

Two Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) employees were arrested today for issuing SIM cards on fake documents.The users of the SIM cards talked over three months to foreign countries which costs about Rs 8.5 lakhs. (more at Central Chronicle)
