Sify Appoints President, Consumer Infrastructure Services; What Restructuring?

Sify Technologies has announced the appointment of Natesh Mani as the company’s President (Consumer Infrastructure Services). Mani joins from Xerox, where he was Director (Middle East & Africa), and according to Sify MD & CEO Raju Vegesna, he joins "at a critical juncture, as we have just completed consolidating and reconstructing the company’s Consumer business. Natesh’s rich experience in Marketing, Sales Operations and Channel Development will play a pivotal role in strengthening and growing the Consumer business.” Note that the company has been talking about the restructuring of its Consumer business since Q3 2008 - around a year and a half, but details of what exactly has been a part of the restructuring are not available. When we requested details of the restructuring, we were asked to refer to Sify's Q1-10 earnings release, which has no mention of the same. We also requested Sify yesterday for a clarification on what the "Consumer Infrastructure Services" division includes, and whether their portals business is also a part of this, but are yet to receive a specific response. The company has not specified details of what will be a part of the Consumer Infrastructure Services portfolio under Mani.
