Sri Lankan Teleco Tigo To Be Sold By March 2010 Millicom International Cellular Asia’s sale of its Sri Lankan operations, Tigo will be concluded by the first quarter of next year and is worth US$150-200 million. Malaysia's Axiata, which owns 85% of the dominant player Dialog Telekom, is believed to be in one of the contenders, as is India's Bharti Airtel. [SundayTimes.lk] Deccan Chronicle Increases Advertisement Tariff Deccan Chronicle Holdings Ltd announced an increase of 20% on its advertisements tariff across all its editons of Deccan Chronicle which will be effective from October 1, 2009. This increase has come up due to the success of Bengaluru having an cerified circulation of 2, 44,902 copies by Audit Bureau of Circulation along with daily circulation of 13,49,959 copies in South India. [BSE] MTS Considers Indian IPO Next Year MTS, which owns 74 percent in Shyam Sistema, is considering an IPO next year. The Russian government plans to pick around 20% stake in Sistema and will pay close to $700 million (Rs 3,500 crore) to acquire the share.
