Five Soundbuzz India Execs Join Comviva
Five of the ten Indian team members from Soundbuzz have joined Bharti group company VAS company Comviva, we’re told by Comviva. Soundbuzz, a digital content and music aggregator which was acquired by Motorola in January 2008, is on the block, with Indian operations having been shuttered, as we had reported a couple of months ago. The executives will help further build Comviva’s content offerings.
In.com To Offer Free Downloads Of Spanish Version Of Shakira’s Latest Single
By virtue of an exclusive tie-up with Sony, In.com is going to offer free downloads of the Spanish version of singer Shakira’s latest single “She Wolf”, apart from a preview of the video, wallpapers and contests. The free downloads of the Spanish version will be available for two days 11th and 12th of August 2009 only. There’s little point in doing a deal for the Spanish version in India, unless it’s for free. On a brighter note, this might do wonders for In.com in Latin America.
For those who really want it, they would know where to get the English version on the net. Here’s the English version of the song on YouTube. Sounds like it’s from the electronic years of the late 80’s if you ask me, rather than contemporary.
Naukri.com Releases Salary Tool PayCheck
Naukri.com has released a Salary mapping tool called PayCheck which allows users to compare their salary with those of their contemporaries, offering information both in terms of both the highest and lowest salaries for a particular profession with a particular experience, as well as a median amount. Interestingly, this initiative was first announced on Twitter last week. The tool maps change in salary with a change in experience, industry, functional area or city and comparing multiple salaries on the same sheet. The tool is quite flexible, as allows users to progessively enter their own details in order to enable a finer comparison.
Naukri has based PayCheck on a database of 10 million results, but hopefully they put in a database and algorithm that logs and learns from user inputs and provides more accurate results with time. Keep in mind that since this is probably based on the Naukri.com database, there could be a hangover from the boomtime of a year or so ago. This is the second industry data related service from Naukri.com after JobSeek.
A suggestion: Naukri should put a watermark behind the graphs generated, and allow them to be embedded on websites.
