Bollywood Hits On Demand Distributed By Comcast

The video on demand service is by Eros Entertainment and International Media Distribution. Bollywood Hits on Demand is now being offered to Comcast users for a monthly charge of $12.9. The service offers 25 Bollywood movie titles and more than 50 music videos. (Little India)

Our Take: Comcast is also offering a reduced pricing ($9.9) if users sign up with Bollywood Hits on Demand -this will draw more Asian viewers and make it mutually beneficial. When will see such partnerships happening here?

Airtel Merges Eastern Circles; Appoints Deepak Srivastava To Head It

Kolkata, West Bengal and Orissa are being fused into one large circle to make it easier for the operator to run its operations and increase its userbase in the western regions. It has appointed Deepak Srivastava as the CEO for the new circle and he will focus on increasing the number of rural mobile subscribers in West Bengal and Orissa. (More on Business Standard)

Carwale Redesign

Breaking free of the ‘used cars classifieds’ mold, Carwale.com has added more content on new cars, a prominent comparison meter and news on upcoming cars as well as a discussion forum and reviews. It will also expand to offer new car sales in Chennai, Bangalore, Pune and Indore. It claims it generates 20 million page views and 1.6 million unique visitors per month. (Alootechie)

Doordarshan’s Revenues Rise

Doordarshan’s revenues for the fiscal 2008-09 have increased by 1.74% to Rs. 737.05 crores from the previous fiscal, the I&B minister Ambika Soni noted in a written answer to a question in the Lok Sabha. Operational Expenses rose by 38.8% to Rs. 1152.42 crores. (Indopia)

Ad network IAvaratZ Digital is building up its network by adding videos and foraying into social media marketing solutions to draw more clients. The seven year old company, which set up operations in India in 2008 at Noida, currently offers display advertising, search engine marketing and optimsation, eDMs, Social Media and mobile advertising services. Indimoto Partners RadioCity

Carpooling and auto classifieds site Indimoto has partnered with Radio City 91.1 FM and to air a new carpool-focussed program in Delhi and Mumbai. Listeners can send an SMS to the radio jockey who will pass it onto Indimoto, which will put it up as a listing for carpooling after obtaining relevant information.(Yahoo)

Our Take: Think traffic and Bangalore comes to mind – commuters there would benefit more from this program.
