Tata Teleservices To Launch Services First In South India, Using DocoMo Brand

Tata Teleservices and NTT DoCoMo to launch GSM services in India, starting with South India, followed by western and northern regions, under the brand Tata DocoMo, “expecting to complete the pan-India rollout by the end of 2009”, said Tata Teleservices’ President for GSM operations Deepak Gulati. DoCoMo is planning to launch its famous data focused i-mode content services in India. We wonder if they’ll give i-mode like revenue shares to publishers and content providers as well. DoCoMo may also bring in various high-end handsets for data applications for TTSL customers in India. Defence Personnel Not Allowed To Share Location Sensitive Info On Facebook, Orkut, Twitter

Defense personnel active on the Internet are now prohibited to share personal information on social networking sites such as Orkut, Facebook, Twitter etc. The Indian Army has issued a circular in this regard fearing that the information shared might disclose the personnel’s whereabouts. Violation of the ‘good order and discipline’ rules under the Army Act can lead to imprisonment for up to seven years. Approximately 35,000 of 1.1 million soldiers are estimated active internet users.
