Mobile Marketing Association India Appoints Co-Chairs
Kunal Bajaj, MD, BDA Connect and Rajiv Hiranandani, Co-Founder & Executive Director, Mobile2Win – Altruist have been elected as Co-Chairs of the Mobile Marketing Association India Local Council, which was launched last month. They will work with the Regional Board of Directors as they will a part of the MMA Regional Leadership Committee also. The membership of the Council has representatives from 40 companies, including Admob, Bharti Telesoft, Buongiorno, Coca-Cola, Google, Group M, Hungama, Indiagames, Microsoft, mKhoj, Nokia, Reuters, Vodafone, Tata Teleservices, Velti and Yahoo! India etc.

Alliance Lumiere Ltd, the joint venture between NDTV Imagine (51%), Manmohan Shetty (29%) and Sunil Doshi (20%), is looking ahead at raising $7 million in the next 18 months. Aircel & Tata-Quippo Deal
Aircel (74% owned by Maxis) is in talks with Tata-Quippo for selling its 12,000 towers which are estimated to be about $1.5 billion, ET reports. Normura would act as the advisor in the deal. The reason of the sale being its $5 billion expansion plan to be a pan-India operator by the end of 2010 and also the 3G spectrum auctions that are coming up.
