Nokia & Zook: A new search application is now available for Nokia handset users. The IIM- Bangalore incubated Ziva Software’s Zook search engine is now available for download on Nokia phones from its application gallery. The search can also be performed over WAP or SMS. Zook introduces ‘search networking’, allowing you to share your search results with contacts in your phonebook. It offers location-aware search, without the need for GPS. Zook automatically derives your approximate location (probably by using cell phone tower identification) and shows results around your location. The application also lets you know when your contacts are online or close by. It also allows users to set personalized alerts and search for deals. You can even download SMS forwards and games for your Series 60 mobile. MTNL’s MobileVoice Email: Soon over 7 million landline and mobile subscribers of MTNL will be able to avail of its new service called Mobile Voice Email. MTNL’s technology and sales partner Mantec Consultants, in partnership with the US-based mobile solutions developer One Voice, will launch a mobile email service called MobileVoice later this month. OneVoice Technologies uses a patented technology for speech recognition called Intelligent Voice Solution. Its voice activated solutions allow users to SMS, page, e-mail, purchase items online, control devices and search for phone numbers by just speaking.
