Earnings Roundup: Tata Teleservices, Mukta Arts, Compact Disc India Ltd

Q3 2009 Snapshot Mukta Arts

  Tata Teleservices Maharashtra Ltd  TTML as announced an increase in subscriber base by 6.2 to 6.6 million, quarter on quarter. The company reported revenues of Rs. 515.86 crores, up 12% from Q3 last year, but still reported a loss of Rs. 45 crores. The losses were up 39.15% year on year, but down 4.84% quarter on quarter. Quarterly EBITDA grew 15% to Rs. 147.34 crores. What's interesting is that Interconnect and Access charges account for 24.39% of the company's expenses. During the quarter, the company rolled out their network in an additional 127 towns in Maharashtra. We don't have more on their performance indicators since, unlike Airtel, RCOM and Idea Cellular, Tata Communications does not release a detailed quarterly performance report. No inputs on Virgin Mobile "Franchise Agreement" either. The company has declared an interim dividend of 20%. During the quarter, Mukta Arts acquired a majority stake in mobile content company Coruscant Tec, with the option of acquiring the rest as well. No details on Coruscants financials yet. The film business is a cyclic one, so a quarter on quarter comparison does not shed much light on the company's performance.
