In top-level rejig, Viacom18 elevates Hindi channels head Raj Nayak to COO

Led by the promotion of Raj Nayak, from head of Hindi channels Colors and Rishtey, to Chief Operating Officer, Viacom18 has restructured its top management. With this rejig, Viacom18 has consolidated its Hindi, Youth, Music and English Entertainment wings under Nayak, who will report to Sudhanshu Vats, Viacom18's CEO. Other changes: Ferzad Palia, head of Viacom18's Youth, Music & English Entertainment wing, will be heading Brand Studio, a wing that offers white-label marketing solutions, and MTV Brand Studio, which will release original music and feature established artists. In a bid to strengthen its rural reach, Viacom18 has also promoted Anuj Poddar from his current role at Colors's Marathi & Gujarati channels to Head of Rural Business, including Rishtey Cineplex, a TV channel predominantly featuring South Indian films dubbed into Hindi. The company has consolidated the responsibility of its existing regional channels (Colors Kannada, Super, Marathi, Bangla, Odia, & Gujarati) and the soon to be launched Colors Tamil with Ravish Kumar, Head of Regional Entertainment, combining all its regional channels under one executive. This restructuring will be effective immediately.
