E-commerce player Flipkart's chief operating officer Nitin Seth, has resigned from the company citing personal reasons, as indicated by Economic Times. Seth had joined the company in February last year as the chief people’s officer. He was also in charge of Ekart, the logistics unit of the company. MediaNama has contacted Flipkart and is awaiting a confirmation. According to Seth’s LinkedIn profile, he was responsible for a long list of roles at the company as well. This included human resources, corporate strategy, strategy deployment, planning, analytics, quality, corporate communications, government relations, risk management, facilities & infrastructure and security. Note that earlier this month, Kalyan Krishnamurthy who is the CEO of the company took over the HR and finance portfolio as well. The company had also said that it was looking for a new HR head who would report to Krishnamurthy. This takes significance as Flipkart is acquiring rival Snapdeal and there will be rationalizing of headcount in the combined entity. At he same time, as part of its $1.4 billion round of funding, Flipkart is the process of integrating acquisition of eBay India. Major Changes since January Since January, there had been reshuffling going on in the top management of Flipkart. In January Krishnamurthy took over as the CEO of the company while Sachin Bansal co-founder became the group CEO.
