Noida-based marketplace for travel agents TravelTriangle.com has raised $10 million in a series B round of funding from RB Investments, and participation from existing investors SAIF Partners and Bessemer Venture Parttners. The company will use the funds to hire more employees and extend its operations. TravelTriangle had previously raised $8 million funding led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with participation from SAIF Partners in April 2015, after having raised Rs 10 crore (~$1.7M) funding from SAIF Partners in July 2014. TravelTriangle was founded in 2010 as a marketplace for travel agents who can create online customized tour packages for travellers. The website also enables customers to connect with travel agents anywhere, get tour quotations, customize the trip according to their preferences and book the plan directly. The company currently claims to list over 100 holiday destinations in India and worldwide. Interestingly, unlike other travel booking websites, TravelTriangle does not let users book flights or transportation to destinations, rather users can book packages of trips, including staying and food arrangements etc. Some travel packages come with travel arrangements, although in most cases users have to make them. This model is more akin to Google Trips, which lets users plan and organize trips to various cities, although manually. However, TravelTriangle lets users book pre-made tours, unlike Google which lets users manually create one, and then book independently. ClearTrip has a similar segment which focuses on pre-designed experiences, but more local and of shorter durations.
