Online cab aggregation Ola has appointed Shalabh Seth as the CEO of Ola Fleet Technologies, the company’s wholly owned car leasing subsidiary. Prior to this, Seth worked with SAB Miller India as its Managing Director where he was responsible for business expansion and growth in the country. At Ola, Seth will monitor supply and growth through leasing and other driver focused initiatives.

According to his Linkdein profile, Seth has also worked with  ITC Limited and held multiple managerial and executive roles. He worked with ITC as Production Manager for 8 years and moved on to SABMiller India in 2007 heading North Region operations for the company. Seth also held other positions like Director of Supply Chain and Sales in the same company. He has an MBA from INSEAD, France and holds Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from BITS Pilani, India.

Ola’s fleet management unit deals with training and skilling drivers, leasing out vehicles to partners. The program was originally launched over a year ago. The company had earlier launched its fleet management app in June last year. The app allows fleet owners to monitor log-in/log-out details of drivers, availability status of cabs, daily earnings, customer ratings among other details.

Recent moves at Ola

Ola has seen a couple of top-level exits from the company recently with Abhimanyu Rawal, the senior manager of the luxury business, being the latest to have put down his papers last week. Rawal spearheaded Ola Lux which allowed users to book luxury sedans and SUVs like Jaguar, Mercedes, Audi, BMW, Toyota and Honda.  The company’s head of new initiatives Sundeep Sahni has also put his papers down around the same time. Sahni headed the Shuttle, Auto, e-rickshaw and Kali-Peeli services.
