Aadhaar validation at ration shops runs into trouble: Maharashtra government's plans for linking ration cards to Aadhaar cards has run into trouble as there are inconsistencies in data. Names on the ration cards are not the same as the names on Aadhaar cards as people add a prefix or suffix on the same. The report added that there are also issues as the public distribution system (PDS) is for an entire family while the Aadhaar database is based for individuals. More in DNA. EPFO to link Aadhaar to withdrawals: The Employees' Provident Fund Organiazation (EPFO) is launching a number of Aadhaar-linked products PF withdrawal and pension fixation by the end of the fiscal year. More than 1.5 crore EPFO subscribers' EPF accounts are seeded with Aadhaar and they will be linking the rest of 2.5 crore accounts with Aadhaar. More in NDTV Profit. Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to study Aadhaar-linked services: The Hans India reports that a delegation from the foundation visited villages in Andhra Pradesh to study Aadhaar-linked services to villagers including sanction of pensions and E-PoS through Aadhaar linkage. Why should applying for Aadhaar-linked scholarships be online?: The Delhi High Court has asked the Centre why Aadhaar-linked scholarships for minorities should be an online process and not available offline. Last week, the Supreme Court had ruled that the Aadhaar is not mandatory for scholarships.
