GirnarSoft, the parent company of CarDekho, BikeDekho, Gaadi, Zigwheels, BuyingIQ and Drishya360s, has launched BusesDekho.com, a portal for trading passenger commercial vehicles, reports Techcircle. The portal allows users to search for buses, vans and autorickshaws based on brand, model and budget and other factors. The portal also displays pictures and videos, brochures and prices of different models. It currently claims to list over 2,000 dealers, 2,500 service centers, 2,500 spare part centers and 312 body makers across the country. The company had earlier entered the commercial segment with the launch of TrucksDekho.com last year, which it claims to receive an average of 10-12 lakh monthly page views and 2-3 lakh unique visitors. Note that in January GirnarSoft had said that it planned to launch multiple automobile verticals including ones for batteries, light commercial vehicles, insurance and hyperlocal roadside assistance services in the next 3-4 months. GirnarSoft’s new and old products would transition from being content platforms to ecommerce platforms, while it planned to expand to the Middle East and African regions, and take its new platforms there. GirnarSoft funding & restructuring: In March, GirnarSoft raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Google Capital and participation from existing investor Hillhouse Capital. At the time, it said it would use the funds for technology, R&D and expansion within and outside India. The next month, the company laid off 60 people in a round of restructuring.
