News Corp-backed real estate website PropTiger has acquired 3DPhy , an augmented reality and 3D visualizations startup in Gurgaon. The financial details of the deal were not disclosed. Last year, PropTiger had also acquired Out of Box Interaction (OoBi), a user interface design firm, for an undisclosed amount. 3Dphy creates and simulates a near-real experience for prospective buyers through 360-degree panoramas and virtual tours. "These tools allow home buyers to not just “see” the surroundings, but also “walk” in them and effectively judge the sizes, shapes, spaces, and dimensions," PropTiger mentioned in a statement. The acquisition will allow PropTiger address current technological gaps and allow consumers to make faster, better choices about homes. PropTiger's other acquisition includes real estate classifieds portal Makaan.com, which operates as an independent entity. PropTiger funding: In June 2015, News Corp raised its stake in PropTiger from 25% to 30%, though the terms of the deal hasn’t been disclosed. News Corp previously acquired a 25% stake in after it raised $30 million from News Corp in November last year. Other developments in 3D startups - In May, GirnarSoft, the parent company of CarDekho, Gaadi and Zigwheels, acquired Volob Technologies, a virtual reality startup, in an all cash deal.
