Shemaroo Entertainment, a Bollywood content aggregator and distributor has crossed 1 billion views on its YouTube channel and has also registered more than 1.5 million subscribers on the channel.

However, there is no clarity regarding the distribution of its channel subscribers and viewers—whether they have viewers outside India and geographical areas that fetch the highest number of subscribers/hits on its YouTube channel. T-Series crosses 7B views on YouTube: Last month, T-Series said that it crossed 10 million subscribers on its main channel on YouTube, with an overall 7.7 billion video views. The company currently owns 16 channels on YouTube with overall 13.6 million total subscribers and 30 billion views.

DishTV Shemaroo tie up: In the same month, DTH operator DishTV had tied up with Shemaroo to launch a Miniplex, a service that lets users watch Shemaroo’s movie premieres every Friday, reports Indian Television. The subscription service will cost Rs 60 per month and will also showcase other movies, all of them ad free.

Appointment of VP: In March, Kaushal Nanavati was appointed by Shemaroo as VP of its International Business operations. Nanavati is currently responsible for driving the company’s business in the international markets and scaling up the television and digital platforms.

Financials: Shemaroo reported new media revenues of Rs 16.64 crore for the quarter ended December 30, 2015 (Q3 FY16). This is an increase of 68.3% year-on-year from Rs 9.89 crore form the same quarter last year. New media revenues grew 5.32% from Rs 15.8 crore from the preceding quarter. Shemaroo’s new media business represents 15.49% of the company’s total operational income, which stood at Rs 101.38 crore during Q3 FY16.

-Last month, Shemaroo Entertainment had tied up with Spuul to share their catalogs with their respective users.

-In November, Shemaroo had tied up with Airtel Digital TV to launch a movie premiere service called Miniplex.

-In August last year, Singapore telecom operator Singtel which launched its video streaming service HOOQ in India in May 2015, added over 1,000 Shemaroo video titles on its platform.

– In July 2015, Red Chillies Entertainments partnered with Shemaroo Entertainment to distribute a dozen Shah Rukh Khan films on the TV platform.

– In April 2015, Shemaroo entered into a distribution agreement with Magna Publishing Company to distribute its content over digital channels and mobile channels.

– In January 2015, Shemaroo tied up with net mobile AG to distribute content from Playboy Enterprises Inc in south Asian countries which include India, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

– In the same month, it tied up with mobile video platform 1230n to offers its video catalogue of Bollywood songs, devotional content and regional videos on 1230n’s mobile app.
