Online cab aggregator Ola has launched Ola Outstation, a cab service from Pune to travel to Lonavala, Mumbai, Nashik and Aurangabad (among other cities it does not mention), which can be booked and accessed in 2 hours from the time of booking. Under the service, Ola offers Toyota Etios, Tata Indigo and Maruti Dzire cars. However, Ola’s mail to its users states that users can get a cab to “any city in India.” Earlier this month, Mint reported that Ola was planning to launch the outstation service The company is only accepting cash for these rides currently and the app says that round trip charges will be applicable, although it is not clear if the user needs to compulsorily take a round trip or if it is charging round trip fare for a one way trip. As of now, the company offers cabs at Rs 10 per km under Mini and Sedan cars under Outstation. Interestingly, users can book a trip for longer than a day, up to 10 days. However, its not clear if Ola is charging its users by kilometers for longer-than-a-day trips or otherwise. Can a user get a cab when they want during their trip, and if yes, how is it any different from booking a regular Ola cab from wherever the user is?
