The Immediate Payment Service (IMPS) saw a 8.90% growth in the total transactions taking place between February and March 2016, although there was a 8.30% increase in total number of Mobile Money IDs (MMID), according to data published by the National Payments Corporation of India.
The transaction volumes grew on a monthly basis to 28.5 million (28,564,270 transactions) from 26.2 million transactions (26,228,928 transactions) while the amount transacted increased by 17.06% on a monthly basis to Rs 21,209.26 crore. The average transaction amount increased by 7.49% on a monthly basis to Rs 7,425.1 crore.
