Rs 18,117 Cr transacted using IMPS in February 2016

The Immediate Payment Service (IMPS) saw a 7.17% growth in the total transactions taking place between January and February 2016, although there was a 4.62% increase in total number of Mobile Money IDs (MMID), according to data published by the National Payments Corporation of India. The transaction volumes grew on a monthly basis to 26.2 million (26,228,928 transactions) from 24.4 million transactions (24,473,814 transactions) while the amount transacted increased by 4.11% on a monthly basis to Rs 18117.86 crore. The average transaction amount decreased by 2.86% on a monthly basis to Rs 6,907.59 crore. Month-wise details: Bank Status Currently, 53 commercial banks are signed up for IMPS.
