Amit Lakhotia has resigned from Paytm Amit Lakhotia, VP of payments at One97 Communications’ Paytm has resigned, reports VCCircle, with plans to start his own company. At Paytm, Lakhotia worked as as the associate VP, before which he worked as the GM of payments and deals for about 2 years. Before this, he co-founded and was the director of GetMeCab for about a year. He has also worked with MakeMyTrip and UTStarcom for about 5 years. Earlier this month, Paytm appointed Varun Khullar as head of partnerships for its payments bank. Khullar will lead partnerships and build partners in insurance companies, banks and nonbanking financial institutions. Paytm also appointed Vikas Purohit in a leadership position for its payments bank, and plans to hire 3,000 people for the same business. *** Ekalavya Bhattacharya appointed as chief strategy officer at ALT Digital Balaji Telefilms has appointed Ekalavya Bhattacharya as the chief strategy officer of its OTT video service ALT Digital Media, reports VCCircle. He will work with the management team for ALT’s strategy. Prior to this, Bhattacharya worked at MTV India as head of digital services for about 4 years. He has also worked at Viacom18, Zapak Digital, Contests2win, WATConsult and PagalGuy. Last month, Balaji Telefilms appointed Nachiket Pantvaidya as chief executive officer of ALT Digital where Pantvaidya would be responsible for the the profit and loss of operations, content, marketing, distribution and revenues of the company.
