Airtel, Idea & Vodafone make up 65% of total active mobile connections in India – October 2015

The top three telecom operators in India – Vodafone, Airtel and Idea Cellular – added 5.91 million active connections in October 2015, accounting for 65% of active connections, and 69% of total active added connections. Their growth is outpacing the rest, as, together, they accounted for more active connections during the month (65%) than all the telecom operators combined, while some of the rest lost connections. Reliance Communications (RCOM) added 1.12 million active connections during the month. The operator still forms a significant part of the top four telecom operators, which together account for 77% of India’s active mobile connection base.
