TO THE NEW appoints Dave Maan as executive VP of video
Web products and digital services company TO THE NEW Digital has appointed Dave Maan as executive VP of video solutions. Maan will be responsible for contributing to the overall strategy and managing the delivery of products and services to the company’s clients. He will primarily work on increasing video streaming solutions and VideoReady, the company’s OTT video solution. Maan has previously worked with Altran, Ericsson, HP, Alcatel and Sapient among others and has experience in digital video, OTT, mobile ad platforms, digital marketing etc.
In May, the company consolidated 4 of its digital services businesses – Tangerine Digital, IntelliGrape Software, Ignitee Digital and Techsailor – to form TO THE NEW Digital. All four companies had been acquired by TO THE NEW over the past few years. Fashion and lifestyle e-commerce company American Swan, YouTube MCN #fame, social media analytics platform ThoughtBuzz and blogging platform Blogmint are a part of TO THE NEW Group.
Voylla appoints Tapan Roychoudhary and Prashant Sharma
Online jewelry store Voylla has appointed Tapan Roychoudhury as head of offline channels and Prashant Sharma as the head of finance. Sharma has previously worked with Bata. Previously, Roychoudhury worked with Sahara Worldwide as the head of retail operations for over 2 years, head of market region at Fabindia for over 2 years, retail consultant at various companies for about 1.5 years and VP of operations at Wadhwan Lifestyle Retail for over a year. He has also worked as a manager in Piramyd Retail, Arcus, Liwa Trading, Splash LLC and Eureka Forbes.
The company also plans to hire 300 people across retail, tech, manufacturing, marketing and merchandising in this financial year. It currently employs 180 people and plans to add 75 recently graduated people by the end of next year.
In October, Voylla raised $15 million in a fresh round of funding from Peepul Capital for brand building, expanding its distribution network, investing in technology and increasing its manufacturing capabilities. At that time, Voylla manufactured self branded jewellery and sold it via its own web portal, over 30 other online marketplaces and 3 of its own physical stores. The company mentioned that it would look to expand its physical store network ‘significantly’, while also entering international markets.
Homesfy appoints Chetan Dev as chief product officer
Homesfy, a property service company, has appointed Chetan Dev as its chief product officer. Dev will head product development and innovation at the company. Interestingly, Dev’s LinkedIn profile states that he works as a software engineer at Craftsvilla starting this month. Prior to that, he founded Potjoy, before which he worked as a senior software engineer at CarWale for about 3.5 years. He has also worked with MobileCEM Labs as a software engineer for over a year and interned with Amitec Electronics and Microelectronics Research and Communication Institute, University of Idaho.
