Chennai-based customer support platform Freshdesk has acquired Konotor a marketing and customer relationship manager for mobiles for an undisclosed amount, reports Mint. The company bought Konotor to boost its presence on mobile phones. This is Freshdesk's third acquisition and the company had previously acquired Frilp in October and 1Click.io in August. Frilp is a social recommendations platform while 1Click.io also provides customer support services with features like video chat, voice chat, text chat, live recording, analytics and co-browsing. Konotor helps businesses communicate directly with their users to share announcements or promotions, and also allows users to talk to support teams. Th company claims that its platform supports more than 40 million users through the apps it works with and has customers such Zomato, BankBazaar.com and Faasos. Konotor will continue to exist independently and serve its existing customers. Founded in October 2010, Chennai-based Freshdesk provides a cloud-based customer support platform which allows businesses to support customers through traditional channels like email, phone, website and forums and social channels like Facebook and Twitter. Other players in the customer support and help desk software segment include Zendeskwhich went public in May last year, Salesforce’s Desk.com, SupportBee,Airwoot, UserVoice and HelpScout. Freshdesk funding Freshdesk recently raised $50 million in a round of funding led by Tiger Global along with Accel Partners and Google Capital in April. It had also raised $31 million in Series D funding round led by existing investor Tiger Global and participation from existing investor Accel Partners and new investor Google Capital in June last year.…
