Blubox raises $100,000 from angel investors
Mumbai-based e-tailing platform Blubox has raised angel funding worth $100,000 from Ashish Jhalani, promoter of Etailingindia, with participation from Amit Jhalani and Supreet Singh, reports Vccircle. The funds will be used to further its expansion and upgrade its technological infrastructure.
Founded by Harish Singla and Dipti Singla in 2012, Blubox helps users sell items online through e-commerce marketplaces like Flipkart, Snapdeal, Amazon, Paytm, Shopclues, Lime Road, Jabong, Myntra, Homeshop18 etc. The company claims to connect brands/labels and e-commerce marketplaces through its end-to-end services ranging from product selection advisory, model photo-shoot and catalogue, order management to payment reconciliation.
MeraDoctor raises undisclosed seed funding from IndiaQuotient
MeraDoctor, an app developed by Mumbai-based health startup mHealth Ventures, has raised an undisclosed amount of seed funding from IndiaQuotient and other angel investors, reports Vccircle. The funds will be used for user acquisition and improving the user experience. Currently a team of 35, MeraDoctor plans to double its team size in the coming months.
Co-founded by Ajay Nair and Gautam Ivatury in 2011, MeraDoctor allows patients to consult doctors over text chats. The app claims to have had 200,000 downloads so far and makes consultations for around 4,000-5,000 patients every day. The users get one free consultation per month and rest are charged at Rs. 150 each. The company claims that it has seen 40% month on month growth since March this year.
Clapnslaps raises angel funding worth $150,000
Crowd-sourced movie review site Clapnslaps has raised $150,000 in angel investment from Mumbai-based production house RM Picture Company, reports Vccircle. With this funding, the company plans to upgrade its technology infrastructure, boost operations and hiring. The company had previously raised Rs 1 crore from an undisclosed investor in its first angel round of funding.
Founded in 2013 by Pravin Shah, Clapnslaps claims to have more than 10,000 registered users, over 70,000 monthly unique visitors and more than 130,000 monthly page views. Clapnslaps rates Bollywood and Hollywood movies in ‘Claps’ or ‘Slaps’ depending purely on audience reviews. It also features latest news from the film industry and official trailers and song videos.
MockBank raises $390,000 from Blume Ventures and others
Online test preparation platform, MockBank, has secured $390,000 in seed funding from Blume Ventures, with participation from Singapore-based Mercatus Capital, Amit Ranjan, co-founder of Slideshare and Srivatsan Rajan,India chairman of Bain & Company, reports Vccircle. The funding will be used to strengthen its technology platform and content offerings.
The startup, which provides online mock tests for government jobs, was co-founded by Konark Singhal, Manesh Jain and Ramesh Narayanan in July 2013. It provides online test preparation services for PSU jobs in the banking and finance realms including insurance companies and claims to have over 100,000 customers.
Houzify receives investment from Mohandas Pai and InMobi’s Navin Tewari
Home decor and interior design platform Houzify has raised an undisclosed amount of seed funding from TV Mohandas Pai and InMobi co-founder Naveen Tewari, reports Vccircle. Founded in September 2014 by Gunaseelan, Shailesh Kochhar and Chintan Punjabi, Houzify aims to connect homeowners with design enthusiasts, professionals, retailers and manufacturers.
