Amazon India to sell refurbished smartphones from Surpluss

Ecommerce platform Amazon India has entered into a partnership with Surpluss.in to sell refurbished smartphones by Samsung and Xiaomi on its platform. The company mentions it will soon add refurbished smartphones from brands like Apple, One Plus, Lava and Motorola.   As of now, Surpluss is selling around 25 refurbished Samsung smartphones and one Xiaomi Mi3 smartphone on Amazon. According to the company, it has already received over 150 orders from the platform. Interestingly, some other sellers are also selling refurbished devices on Amazon including the iPhone and some Sony devices. On its own website, Surpluss sells various unboxed, refurbished, overstocked and new products. This includes various mobiles, tablets, laptops, home appliances, audio/video players, lifestyle items like clothes and wallets, and home decor items like cushion covers and handcrafted bottles. The platform also sells pet supplies like dog food etc. Refurbished goods on Junglee: In April, Amazon India’s e-commerce & price comparison portal Junglee, started selling unboxed, factory seconds, refurbished and surplus electronic products such as mobile phones & tablets, cameras, TVs, refrigerators, and washing machines among others on its platform. The platform had added e-commerce marketplace for unboxed and refurbished products Overcart.com and Lightbox-backed GreenDust.com as Sellers on the platform. Interestingly, in April, Greendust also tied-up with Amazon to offer buyback and exchange options to users.
