Ecommerce marketplace Snapdeal has appointed Amit Maheshwari as the Chief Executive Officer of its recently acquired fashion store Exclusively.com. Prior to this he worked as the VP of fashion merchandising for Snapdeal. Overall Maheshwari has been at Snapdeal for over three years. Before Snapdeal, he worked as the head of apparel and personal care at Reebok India for over six and half years, from December 2005 to July 2012. He was also the category manager at ITC-LRBD for three and half years between June 2002 and November 2005. Note that Snapdeal recently also appointed Animesh Sharma, former executive at Wize Commerce as the Chief Technology Officer of Exclusively, and Abhishek Passi, the former VP of strategy at Snapdeal, as the chief operating officer of Exclusively. This leadership team will work together with the co-founders of Exclusively, Sunjay Guleria and Mohini Guleria. Exclusively acquisition: Snapdeal had acquired Exclusively for an undisclosed amount in February this year. Note that Exclusively.in was acquired by rival Myntra in 2012. But it looks like Myntra sold back its entire stake in the company back to founder Sunjay Guleria in second half of 2013 and the company had been operating independently ever since. Exclusively.in started as a flash sales site but pivoted to a standard e-commerce model offering designer apparel and accessories in 2011.
