The 120 Media Collective appoints CFO and Business Head
Media company The 120 Media Collective has appointed Shilpa Ambre as chief financial officer and Vishal Nongbet as senior vice president and business head for their recently launched video-on-demand brand Sooperfly. The company said that both Ambre and Nongbet will be based out of Mumbai and will report to Roopak Saluja- Founder & CEO, The 120 Media.
Prior to The 120 Media Collective, Vishal Nongbet was heading the India business for InMobi. Nongbet also experience across the media industry of more than 15 years, has held several positions at The Times Group, Mahindra & Mahindra, Webaroo, Kodak India in the past. Vishal will be responsible with building the Sooperfly team and business and running day to day operations including content, distribution and monetization across APAC, the company said.
Shilpa Ambre comes from Komli Media, and has experience of 17 years in Digital Media, Information Technology Enables Services (ITES) Auditing and Financial Services. The company also added Shilpa’s expertise lies in Fund Raising & IPO listing, Mergers and acquisition, Business Modeling & Financial Planning , ERP Implementation, to cite a few. Shilpa has also worked with Hexaware Technologies for close to seven years.
Separately the company also announced that Chahna Rupani, Senior Producer, Bang Bang Films has been promoted to Executive Producer, Sniper, and will primarily be responsible for driving revenues and growth and also ensuring excellence and efficiencies for both commercials and content production.
Carnival Cinemas ropes in Saurabh Saxena as COO
Carnival Cinemas has appointed Saurabh Saxena as its chief operating officer (COO), reports IndianTelevision.com. Most recently he was with Sahara India as head of entertainment. Saxena brings with him over 24 years of experience in the hospitality and entertainment industry, Saxena has previously worked in multiplex companies such as PVR, Fame Cinemas (now Inox Movies), Big Cinemas, Cinemax, Wave Cinemas. Earlier last year, Carnival cinemas expanded its footprint in the country and HDIL’s Broadway, Reliance’s Big Cinemas and Glitz Cinemas. Carnival Cinemas now has 346 plus screens operating in the country and said that it will open 1000 screens in next two years.
Turner appoints Rohit Khetrapal as director, network and content distribution
Turner International India Names Rohit Khetarpal as Director, Network and Content Distribution, reports Mediavataar.com. Khetarpal is responsible for content syndication, and driving mobile and interactive platforms including mobile, broadband, DTH, IPTV, gaming services for Turner’s portfolio of industry-leading news and kids entertainment brands including CNN International, Cartoon Network, and POGO. In addition, he leads CNN International’s hotel partnership program and broadcast partnerships in South Asia. He also manages the distribution of all Turner channels in South Asian markets outside of India. Based in Delhi, Khetarpal reports into Siddharth Jain, Turner’s Senior Vice President and Managing Director for South Asia. Earlier in March, Turner International India, has appointed Rohit Bhandari as network head and senior director. Bhandari will head the company’s English entertainment portfolio which also includes HBO South Asia, WB Channel and TCM India.
