Google will provide $500,000 in grants to three charities to promote child safety campaigns in India. These non-profits include Childline India Foundation, Bachpan Bachao Andolan and Tulir, which will be provided with support for smart applications of technology and to scale initiatives aimed at child safety programs and campaigns in India. The grants have been made by Google through Google.org, its charitable arm. Childline India will use the grants to develop an online platform for its services, while Bachpan Bachao Andolan will use the fund to create a program for fighting child sexual abuse, including the development of an online information site, an advocacy campaign and a national conference for experts and providers. A brief on the non-profits Childline India Foundation - Childline has a free phone service for children in need of help or protection. Kids and concerned adults can call 1098 at any time to report problem to trained providers, who can then connect them to government of NGO services. Bachpan Bachao Andolan - This non-profit aims to protect and rescue children from slavery trafficking and forced labour. Established in 1980, the platform claims to have rescued over 83,500 children by October 2014. Tulir - Tulir also works to prevent child sexual abuse across India. The non-profit offers a school based curriculum to help kids stay safe, resources for victims and education for people that work with children.
