NDTV’s group editor Barkha Dutt is stepping down from her role at the company and is setting up her own multi media company and public policy group, reports FirstPost. Dutt will move on to a role of a consulting editor at NDTV and will continue hosting her shows, The Buck Stops Here on weeknights and We The People on weekends, NDTV Group co-founder and chairperson Prannoy Roy said in an internal email. Dutt is the latest editor to set up her own venture in news, following long-time Indian Express editor Shekhar Gupta who is setting up his venture Mediascape. Mediascape will produce two new television shows for NDTV’s English news channel.
Customer engagement agency OgilvyOne promoted Sonia Khurana to national head of consumer engagement, reports IndianTelevision.com. In her new role, Khurana will be responsible for building the CRM and loyalty capabilities of OgilvyOne across India. Khurana was instrumental in growing the OgilvyOne business and building a team and under her leadership, OgilvyOne acquired many new clients such as Dr. Reddy’s, SAP and Elle Fashionwear amongst others and will now move to Mumbai for her new role.
WPP’s tenthavenue appoints Sudipto Roy as CEO for emerging markets
WPP’s global communications company, tenthavenue, has appointed Sudipto Roy as CEO of Emerging Markets, covering Asia, Africa, Middle East and Turkey, reports IndianTelevision.com. Prior to his role at tenthavenue, Roy was in various leadership roles within global media agency Mindshare across India, Asia Pacific and Africa. These include chief client officer, chair of the Product, Service and Partnerships council, and as client lead for Unilever across APAC, Africa and Turkey, where he played a key role in global leadership of the account. Roy will begin his new role as CEO around mid-April and will be based out of Singapore.
