Trip38, a Bangalore based startup, has raised a funding of Rs 6 crore through InterGlobe Technology Quotient of InterGlobe Enterprises and Singapore-based venture capital firm Lantern Capital. With the funding, the president and CEO of InterGlobe Technology Quotient, Anil Parashar will be joining the startup’s board. Funding to be used for marketing: The company said that they will be using the investment to enhance features and expand the user base through strategic marketing. The money will also go into tweaking and bettering Trip38’s product features and make it more agile and user-friendly. It plans to eliminate the ticket printouts and manual travel management by combining mobile and travel into a single app/platform. What Trip38 does: The app lets users manage their flight and hotel bookings once their tickets have been booked externally. Users can access their flight or stay data according to route (date, airline, departure and arrival airports), airport (domestic and international) and by number (date, flight number and airline). Seshadri Krishnan, Trip38’s founder, added that they had been working on features such as Digital boarding passes and Smart Location aware services using iBeacon which they plan to launch soon. Features: A user can also check their flight status from a host of airports across the world. Trip38 features local guides, real time flight alerts, restaurant recommendations and maps and directions.
