Flipkart appoints Sanjay Baweja as CFO

E-commerce marketplace Flipkart has appointed Sanjay Baweja as its Chief Financial Officer. Baweja will be part of the leadership team at Flipkart and will be responsible for developing a strategic roadmap for profitable revenue growth. Prior to this, Baweja was the Global CFO for Tata Communications. He also worked as Executive President for Corporate Affairs and Chief Risk Officer at Emaar MGF and has had stints at Bharti Airtel, Xerox Modicorp, Digital Equipment and Ballarpur Industries. Earlier this week, Flipkart informed that interim CFO Kalyan Krishnamurthy will return to Tiger Global, one of Flipkart’s largest investors. He had been appointed as interim CFO in May last year, after the then CFO Karandeep Singh quit the company citing personal reasons. Management reshuffle: This week Flipkart also reshuffled its top management, with Myntra founder Mukesh Bansal being appointed marketing chief. He replaces Ravi Vora who has now been tasked with ‘building consumer brands from the ground up’. Flipkart Marketplace head Ankit Nagori also got a higher profile, and will now oversee general merchandise and book-retailing.
