Mohit Hira has been appointed the CEO of Open Magazine, reports Best Media Info. He is also expected to take on the role of Publisher as R. Rajmohan had resigned as the Publisher of Open last month, and is currently serving his notice period. Hira is expected to start work on October 20. Hira had quit from his position as the CEO of Hungama Digital Services and as the Digital Head of JWT India, in August this year. At the time he had told Medianama that he was planning to start up and was considering a few ideas. Hira had joined JWT India in December 2012 and was appointed the head of its digital operations in April 2013. Earlier this year, he had also been appointed the CEO of Hungama Digital Services – a web services unit JWT acquired a majority 51% stake in from Hungama Digital Media in 2012. Before joining JWT, Hira has worked with NIIT at various positions, Times Internet Ltd as Director (which he quit in September 2008), Bennett Coleman & Co. Ltd. as Vice President. He has also worked with Contract Advertising and OHI-DDB, Muscat. He had also been the Brand Head for Times Foundation, Navbharat Times and The Economic Times.
