The Cellular Operators Association of India (which includes most of India’s GSM telecom operators), has reported an addition of 6.18 million GSM connections in May 2014, closing in at 733 million connections, a 0.85% increase from 726.8 million connections in the previous month.

Coai may Telco

– Bharti Airtel added 1.65 million connections in May, taking its connection base to 208.23 million.
– Telewings added 1.30 million connections in May, taking its connection base to 37.88 million.
– Idea Cellular added 1.16 million connections in May, taking its connection base to 137.72 million.

– Among metro circles, Delhi added 179,720 GSM connections, with Kolkata adding 95,837 GSM connections.

Note that no information has been provided about the active users, which we’ll probably get once the telecom regulator TRAI releases data for the entire industry.
