Online retailer Yepme.com is going global by selling its apparel in the international market, The Economic Times reports. The retailer is targeting the NRI market and created a new website yepmeworld.com, which will act as a test-marketing site for international buyers. Yepme is an online shopping company headquartered in Gurgaon which specializes in apparel, footwear and accessories. It is a private label brand and hence, tends to churn out better margins. Yepme offers ethnic Indian wear and international styles of apparels. Seeing the new website, it looks like they intend to focus on ethnic wear for the new market. Though Yepme claims to be the first Indian retailer to go global, there are other private players in the ethnic Indian retail space like Indian Roots, Fab India and Utsav Fashion that provide online purchase and international shipping for customers across the globe. Even retailers who follow a marketplace model like Jabong and Yebhi, also offer international shipping, which means the market has already been noticed by Yepme's competitors. Yepme also showcases and sells its products on other retail portals like Snapdeal and Junglee.com.
