Facepalm! Tata DOCOMO forgot to renew its domains

Update: Tata Docomo has renewed the Tatadocomo.com domain name. That was quick! Earlier today: This is what happens when telcos spend so much time dealing with regulations in India. Tata DOCOMO forgot to renew its domains TataDOCOMO.com and TataDOCOMO.in, registered on April 22, 2009 and expired on April 22, 2014. (Thanks for the anonymous tip, whoever you are). Anyone visiting these websites are now treated to a page full of advertisements (airline tickets and Gujarat matrimonial for me) and a link to renew its domain from Quadra Infotech. Update: The company seems to have reclaimed TataDOCOMO.com. According to Who.is, the websites were renewed last in 2013 by GSM Sridhar, who according to a page on ZoomInfo is VP Legal for the company. Even if Tata DOCOMO manages to renew the domain today the website won't be usable for another day as the DNS information takes a while to propagate. This is not this first an Indian company forgot such such a basic step. Yatra forgot to renew the domain name, which had been registered on August 9th 2000, and expired on August 9th 2013.
